Endoscopy

Arogyadham Health Care provides safe, accurate, and affordable Endoscopy services for the diagnosis and evaluation of various digestive system conditions. Endoscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure that allows doctors to view the inside of your esophagus, stomach, and upper intestines using a flexible tube with a camera—called an endoscope.

Performed by experienced gastro specialists, this procedure helps in early detection and effective treatment planning for gastrointestinal problems.

What is Endoscopy?

Upper GI Endoscopy (also called Esophagogastroduodenoscopy or EGD) is a procedure used to examine the upper part of the digestive tract, including the:

  • Esophagus (food pipe)
  • Stomach
  • Duodenum (first part of the small intestine)

The test is performed using a thin, flexible tube (endoscope) with a light and camera that sends real-time images to a monitor.

When is Endoscopy Recommended?

  • Persistent acidity or reflux (GERD)
  • Unexplained stomach pain or indigestion
  • Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia)
  • Chronic nausea, vomiting, or bloating
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding (vomiting blood or black stools)
  • Suspected ulcers, gastritis, polyps, or tumors

Endoscopy may also be used to collect tissue (biopsy) for further testing or to treat minor conditions (e.g., removing polyps or controlling bleeding).
