At Arogyadham Health Care, we offer Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) to assess how well your lungs are working. PFT is a non-invasive, simple, and safe test that measures how much air you can breathe in and out, and how efficiently your lungs deliver oxygen to the blood.
Performed using modern spirometry equipment, our PFT services help in the early detection, diagnosis, and monitoring of various lung and respiratory conditions.
What is a PFT?
A Pulmonary Function Test evaluates lung volumes, capacity, flow rates, and gas exchange. It involves breathing into a mouthpiece connected to a machine called a spirometer, which records detailed measurements of your lung function.
Why You May Need a PFT
- Have chronic cough, shortness of breath, or wheezing
- Are a smoker or have a history of lung disease
- Are being treated for conditions like:
- Asthma
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Bronchitis
- Pulmonary fibrosis
- Need evaluation before surgery or fitness tests
- Work in environments with dust, chemicals, or smoke exposure
