Stress Echocardiography

Arogyadham Health Care offers Stress Echocardiography (Stress Echo), an advanced, non-invasive diagnostic test used to evaluate how well your heart functions under physical stress. It combines exercise (or medication-induced stress) with real-time ultrasound imaging of the heart, allowing doctors to detect heart problems that may not be visible when the heart is at rest.

This test is performed under the supervision of an experienced cardiologist using advanced 2D echocardiography equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.

What is a Stress Echo?

A Stress Echo involves taking an echocardiogram:

  • Before physical activity (usually walking on a treadmill or cycling), and
  • Immediately after reaching a target heart rate.

In patients unable to exercise, a stress-inducing medication may be used to simulate the effects of physical exertion.

The comparison of images before and after stress reveals how well blood flows to your heart and how your heart muscles respond to increased demand.
